- In 2014, there were 73.6 million children in the U.S.
- Increase of 1.2 million children compared to 2000
- By 2020, less than 50% of children are projected to be White, non-Hispanic
- By 2050, it is projected that:
- 32% of children will be Hispanic (up from 24% in 2014)
- 39% of children will be White, non-Hispanic (decrease from 52% in 2014)
- Increasing racial and ethnic diversity of the U.S.
